We use vibrant peony red as the main color tone, creating an atmosphere of celebration, enhanced with dazzling golden highlights. The elegant curves of the white snake, the intricate texture of its scales, and the delicate Foil patterns come together to add depth and richness to the design of the playing cards.

The design on the back of the Year of the Snake playing cards features a white snake winding around a peony, symbolizing auspiciousness and health, creating a serene yet powerful image that conveys beautiful blessings.  

The court cards and pips have been custom-designed, incorporating Chinese knot elements, outlining unique patterns corresponding to each of the four suits.

Gilded Edition

The winding red fluid gilding, as graceful and agile as a snake, weaves through the celebration and auspiciousness of the New Year, infusing the Year of the Snake with boundless vitality and fortune.  

Limited to 200, each deck comes with a unique serial number.

Special Edition

This is a special edition we’ve released, filled with traditional Chinese charm.  

This deck features a completely different color scheme from the standard version, inspired by Chinese blue and white porcelain, perfectly showcasing its vibrant colors and intricate textures. If you're looking for a unique deck for your collection or as a gift for a friend, this is the ideal choice.

The invention of the kite dates back approximately 2,500 years to the Eastern Zhou period.   By the Sui and Tang dynasties, the papermaking industry had flourished, bringing kites into the homes of ordinary people.   They began to use paper to cover kites, calling them "paper kites," a tradition that continues to this day. As a form of entertainment, paper kites gradually became imbued with more beautiful symbolism.

This project uses traditional Chinese paper kites as its design inspiration, capturing the essence of childhood fun and millennia of heritage, transcending worldly beauty.

We define this gift box as a "setting collection" of the work. We have compiled the creative process of the playing cards and presented them in the form of an art book. The content is rich and detailed, including creative inspiration, Tuck Case industrial design, Sketches and Prototypes, detailed illustration displays, and more.

We have specially designed a multifunctional wooden box that integrates both storage and display features. The lid of the box consists of three separate rectangular panels, which can be easily removed and combined with the box base to form a refined display frame. Inside, it features specially designed supports that hold the unfolded playing cards, allowing them to be suspended in the center of the frame, fully showcasing the elegant form of the kite.

Ultramarine was once one of the most expensive pigments before the 18th century, with costs so high that it was even more valuable than gold. Drawing inspiration from this, we designed the Special Edition around the raw material of ultramarine pigment—Lapis Lazuli.
