Originally released in 2007, Smoke & Mirrors playing cards have since been printed in over thirty unique editions and colorsways but none quite like the original. To commemorate the 17-year anniversary, Dan and Dave produced a limited Relaunch Edition of Version 2 featuring the return of the minimal court cards, joker and ace of spades along with a slightly modified back design. This is as close to the original design you can get without spending a small fortune on the resale market.

Premium North American Black Walnut
Renowned in high-end interior design, North American black walnut stands out for its rich, deep color, elegant grain patterns, and understated sophistication.
As one of the most stable hardwoods, it resists warping and cracking even in varying climates. This makes the cabinet not only visually stunning but also remarkably durable for years to come.
Increased Storage Space
Still capable of holding up to 15 decks, we’ve upgraded each slot to a generous size of 68 × 25 × 95 mm.
Now you can store larger decks such as our Echo (with lenticular tuck box) or 52 Musée series (with double-layer tuck box). This size is compatible with 90% of international deck dimensions.
Hand-Assembled and Finely Polished
Each cabinet is meticulously hand-assembled, sanded, oiled, and inspected.
The wood undergoes at least three rounds of sanding, carefully following the natural grain to preserve the warm texture and organic elegance of black walnut. The result is a storage piece that feels as refined as it looks.
Note: The overall dimensions of the Wooden Playing Cards Cabinet are 224 × 100 × 152 mm. Playing cards are not included.

The protagonist of The Zodiac is a beautiful young woman with golden, “fusilli”-style curly hair, shown in profile. She wears a Byzantine-style headdress and jewelry, adorned with zodiac symbols, and is set against Mucha’s signature circular patterned background, surrounded by intricate leaf-shaped decorations.

Mucha Special Edition
The cover artwork of the special edition deck is Meditation, created by Mucha in 1898. During the height of the Art Nouveau movement, Mucha broke from tradition with his unique artistic style, and Meditation stands as a classic masterpiece from this period.

Van Gogh V2 Special Edition
The special edition deck, created especially for collectors, is inspired by Van Gogh’s 1887 self-portrait.
This painting employs the distinctive pointillism technique of Impressionism, with small, intense brushstrokes resembling flickering flames, weaving together dense dots of blue, green, yellow, red, and more.
In the image, Van Gogh’s gaze is determined, while his flowing hair contrasts sharply with the swirling background. Every color vividly expresses the passionate outpouring of his inner world.

“The Last Machine” emerges as an abstract continuation of the Smoke & Mirror series. This blue edition introduces striking visuals and dualistic ideas of human versus machine while accelerating the mechanical aura first established with v5 Denim (2010).
What happens when the shuffling machine becomes self aware? Cardistry is likely one of the last things to be automated due to its hyper specialized and creative nature. But imagining the alternative — a world in which our passion is overtaken by self aware shuffling machines — may lead to us better understanding the current state and future potential of our art form. This is a tribute to the shuffling machine.
Red - The First Human
“The First Human” emerges as an abstract continuation of the Smoke & Mirror series. This red edition introduces striking visuals and dualistic ideas of human versus machine while accelerating the warm aura first established with v6 Rouge (2011).
What does it mean to be a human cardist? Playing cards are fine-tuned to the anatomy of the human hand. Cultural significance and symbols are scattered throughout the courts, pips and numbers. Revisiting these seemingly obvious facts — and either embracing or challenging them — may lead us to better understand the current state and future potential of our art form. This is a tribute to the human hand.

Crafted with innovative colored ink-wash painting style, these playing cards bring seasonal imagery—like blossoming willows and tranquil lotus ponds—to life. Through the changing rhythm of the 24 solar terms, traditional culture is reimagined with modern charm.
Each card features a seamlessly connected illustration, forming a “breathing scroll” across 2 or 3 cards—capturing the misty rains of Awakening of Insects (惊蛰, Spring) or the serene skies of White Dew (白露, Autumn).
