The top cover of the gift box can be flexibly disassembled. In reality, it is actually a book in Chinese and English. Through the it, you can see our original artwork. We define this gift box as a "setting collection" of the work, hoping that you can understand the entire product design process from it.

With "Room & Space" as the theme, I pondered for a long time on how to represent "room" concretely. Eventually, I decided to use "doors" as a tangible object. A surface with a door becomes a room.

As the debut project in this series, "doors" signify the initial notion of "entering everything." I chose red, reflecting the color of my first deck. Inspiration largely came from motels and key cards frequently seen in road movies.

Moving away from the traditional functional geometry of "flourishing cards" or the standardized design direction of so-called "flourishing card faces," I present these cards in a more sensorial and artistic manner. It’s artistic yet delves into the history of cards. These are fun cards for those who enjoy the culture of cards, and I avoid imposing any strict definition. They're suitable for playing, magic, flourishing, or simply admiring.

Room52 Standard

As the debut of Smooth Writing, the cards are manufactured by TCC in China. 

The embossed tuck case with deluxe specialty paper and gold foil on the inside make the tuck case exceptionally textured. Linen finish and the appropriate paper thickness also ensure a remarkable feel while using them. The large color blocks on the backs stabilize the visual effects when cutting the deck, and each door will move along with the motion.

Room52 Silver

Limited to 700.

Its design has been modified to resemble an elevator door, and the deck's design is adjusted to a silver-gray tone.

This is the Classic box sets. The box is grand and exudes a sense of luxury.  All the exterior elements, including the black text, are done in gold foil, gleaming with a metallic sheen against the extensive use of high-quality touch paper. 

As the box is opened, an internal mechanism raises the playing cards to the optimal viewing angle for appreciation.

The same lifting mechanism and intricate hollow interior as the Classic have been retained, with adjustments and upgrades to the color scheme. A more pure gold color, along with an all-over black and gold structure, has resulted in a significant visual leap for the box.

The color for the playing cards has also been adjusted accordingly.  Only black and Gold / Silver colors are used to depict the image of the White Tiger, while the rest of the cards feature full-page gold foil material, resembling two heavy ingots placed in a treasure chest.

Deluxe Beech Collection's Box Set

Crafted entirely from solid beech wood, it bears a unique natural grain pattern. The metal nameplate inlaid on the front elevates the wooden box into a true work of craftsmanship.

Both the interior and card backs of the box are purple, with the cards utilizing full-color foil and gold edges. You might wonder why the White Tiger isn't white. As part of the entire series, we aimed for a cohesive visual presentation. Therefore, just like the previous three works, the White decks is still applied in the Class box set.

Similar to how red complements blue, the White Tiger has chosen purple, which complements green. This choice aims to represent the Eastern and Western influences in a harmonious manner.

When it comes to sculpture, pure white marble is often the first thing that comes to mind.  Inspired by the art of sculpture, this deck showcases clean and exquisite lines, as well as the interplay of light and shadow.  Paying homage to iconic sculptures, including Michelangelo's renowned David, it represents one of the most celebrated masterpieces in Western art history.

To create this tuck case, intricate and elegant embossing techniques were employed.  Both thematically and visually, it instantly evokes the world of sculpture.  European-style vines and textures adorn the entire composition, culminating in the centerpiece of the tuck case, the statue itself.

In order to achieve a visually striking embossed effect, special embossing plates with a height 2mm higher than conventional ones were used.  This results in a pronounced and distinctive embossed effect on the finished product.  The choice of cotton-based paper provides the tuck case with a tactile roughness reminiscent of marble.

The cards maintain the theme of pure elegance, with unified colors across all suits.  During the printing process, eye-catching premium PANTONE silver ink was employed, elevating the deck's luxury and further accentuating the theme.

The court cards depict various famous sculptures, each one carefully selected for its artistic beauty and significance.  From the intricate details of Michelangelo's David to the timeless elegance of Venus by Milo, these cards celebrate the masterpieces that have captivated art enthusiasts for centuries.
